Believe it or not, the Cosplay Super Shoot is back! Due to restrictions from the Covid-19 pandemic, this shoot will look a little different from previous ones. Instead of one 8-hour shoot day where people can arrive and shoot whenever they want, I will be shooting two days back-to-back, and have set up 2-hour time slots to spread out people’s arrival times.
Each 2-hour time slot will have 4 sessions available, with each session lasting 30 minutes.
Each person will have a 30 minute photo session per cosplay and receive 10 final photos with a combination of some images showing the behind-the-scenes lighting setup, and some closeups with just the model and the textured background. There will be two custom hand-painted canvas backdrops (created by Ikaros Art) to choose from. See photos below for samples of how the setup and backdrops will look. These photos are meant to showcase your cosplays and all the hard work that you put into your costumes. You are encouraged to bring additional costumes and props to have displayed in the photos with you.
The shoot will be located in the 2nd floor space above Hop Farm Brewing in Lawrenceville. Please use the side door with the Cosplay Super Shoot sign on it on 56th Street to go upstairs. Once at the top of the stairs, the shooting room will be to the left and a prep area will be to the right, which has a large mirror. There is also a bathroom available. 3-4 people will be allowed in the prep rooms at a time. Please wear masks whenever you are not alone in that space. Make sure to be ready to shoot by the beginning of your time slot. If you arrive early for your shoot, or would like to stay after, Hop Farm Brewing is open noon-10pm Saturday and noon-8pm Sunday. There is lots of space to hang out with other cosplayers, grab a beer, or have a bite to eat.
